As a future educator, I realize that one of the most important components of an educational philosophy is how teaching and learning is viewed. In regard to teaching, I strongly believe that the teacher has the responsibility too impart knowledge to his or her students. The main purpose of being an educator is to educate, and teachers should take full responsibility for producing students that have the skills, knowledge, and abilities that will help them survive in our society. Although teachers do not know everything, it is important that they become familiar with enough subjects that they are teaching in order to effectively impart knowledge to their students. Teachers should be able to stimulate student's growth physically and intellectually in the classroom setting. As teachers become observant of each students needs, they will know how to develop their lesson plans for individual and group instruction. |

Philosophers play a major role in helping educators determine how students learn. As teachers we need to become aware of the variety of assumptions about the way children learn so that we will present accurate activities to our students. |
